Cream does not hand you a directory and wish you luck. It reads where you are heading, and finds the people who have already been there. It works in both directions, because you have as much to give as you have to gain.
Every match shows its own reasoning. If we cannot say why two people should talk, we do not introduce them.

- They proved Took a single product platform through its first enterprise security reviews. Signed by a reference who was in the room.
- The overlap Not a shared job title. The same problem, already solved once.
Both people see this, and neither sees a name yet. What you see is the reason, which is the part that decides whether the conversation is worth having.
What makes a match
A problem in common, not a keyword in common.
Every member's record says which problems they have actually solved, in plain words, confirmed by someone who watched them do it. So the match is made on the problem.
A directory makes you guess
Search any network and you are picking people by job title and employer, because that is all you can see. You guess who might be useful, then guess again whether they will reply.
Cream matches on what people have done
Your record says where you are heading. Theirs says what they have already delivered, and who confirmed it. The match is made between those two facts, and it arrives with its reason attached.

Members walking a path you have already travelled, facing challenges you understand firsthand.
You share the lessons you learned, the judgement you built, and the support you once needed yourself.
Nobody is only a mentor here, and nobody is only a mentee.
The introduction, both ways blind
You are invisible until you say yes.
Peers see what you are strong in, never who you are. Your name moves only when you agree, and the same is true for them. That holds for every introduction Cream makes, including introductions to companies.
This is the one rule everything else at Cream hangs from, so it is enforced by the system rather than by anyone's good manners. You can work the control yourself on the home page.
- Cream Finds the match and writes down why, using only what is already on both records.
- They ask A peer asks to be introduced. They see your strengths and your direction. They do not see your name.
- You decide Nothing has happened yet. Declining costs you nothing and tells them nothing.
- Both released Names appear together, never one before the other.
There is no step in that sequence where somebody else decides on your behalf.
Membership
The people worth knowing are the hardest ones to find.
That is the whole reason this is invitation only and the invitations come from members. Everyone here was put forward by somebody who had actually worked with them, which is why a match is worth taking.
