Terms

The rules we hold ourselves to, and the few we ask of you.

This is the agreement between you and Cream. It is short because Cream does a small number of things, and we would rather write those down than bury them. Nothing here is a defined term, a schedule, or a paragraph that means the opposite of what it appears to. Where a rule is about your data rather than your conduct, the longer version is on the privacy page.

Last updated September 2026. Two words changed: the companies that brief us are now called partners.

Who this is for

Cream is a private network for senior product leaders, and it is in beta with a founding cohort. Reading this site asks nothing of you. Asking to join, or joining, means you are content to be dealt with on the terms on this page. Please ask for yourself rather than on somebody else's behalf. We only want to hear from the person whose work it is.

How you get in, and what does not get you in

A member can put you forward, or you can simply ask. Either way a person reads it and the work decides. A referral code tells us who to thank and nothing more: it is not a key, it is not checked at the door, and it does not put you ahead of anybody. If the answer is not now, we will say so rather than go quiet.

A request is not thrown away

Requests are kept and read, including on a busy day when yours may wait longer than we would like. The only time one does not reach us is when the form itself tells you it could not take it, which happens when something is plainly attacking the page rather than applying through it. If you ever see that, write to us directly and you will not have lost your place.

Membership costs you nothing

Members never pay Cream, at any stage. Partners, the companies that brief us on a search, pay Cream when a placement is made, and that is the whole business model rather than one part of it. There is no paid tier, nothing is upsold to you, and nothing about your record is behind a payment. If that ever changes, it changes here first, and you will hear it from us before it applies to you.

Your record has to be your own work

What you tell Cream about your career should be true, and it should be yours. Overstating what you did is not a small thing here, because the entire point of an evidence record is that somebody else is relying on it. Where a claim will not hold up, it comes out of your record, and a record built on claims that do not hold is a reason to end a membership.

Ask your referee before you name them

We never ask you for a colleague's details when you request access, and when you name a reference later we expect you to have asked that person first. We contact them about you and nothing else. They are never added to a list, never marketed to, and never approached about a job.

What you see through Cream stays inside it

An introduction hands you something a person chose to release to you and to nobody else. Do not forward it, publish it, or add it to a list. If you are hiring, what you learn about somebody stays with the people making that decision. Of everything on this page, this is the one we would most struggle to forgive.

Nobody automates against anybody here

We do not run automated collection against LinkedIn, and we ask for the same in return, including against Cream itself. We do read public GitHub profiles and repositories, which GitHub publishes openly for that purpose. Anything else is pasted deliberately by a person, on both sides of that rule.

Nothing about you moves until you say so

Partners see anonymous shortlists. Your name reaches a specific partner only when you confirm your interest in that specific role, and you can tell us to take it back. Between members it runs both ways, so names appear together or not at all. This one is enforced by the system rather than by anybody's good manners, which is the only reason it is worth promising.

Cream introduces. Cream does not employ

We make the introduction and then step out of the way. Any role, contract, pay, notice period or arrangement that follows is between you and the company. Cream is not a party to it, does not act as your agent, does not negotiate on your behalf, and takes no share of anything you are paid.

What we do not promise

We do not promise you a role, an introduction, a match, or that a company will write back. We do not promise this site and the platform are always available. What we do promise is how we behave: evidence rather than claims, a source on every line, and your name in your own hands. Deciding who fits what is human judgment, and human judgment is sometimes wrong.

Ending it, from either side

You can leave whenever you like. Write to us and we remove your record, and we confirm when it is done rather than leaving you to wonder. We can end a membership too, and the reasons are the ones on this page: a claim that does not hold, something released that should not have been, or behavior toward another member we would not defend. We will tell you which, and we will tell you it directly.

Everything illustrated here is invented

Every profile, passport and reading shown on this site is a fictional composite, built to show how a developed record reads. No member's record is ever published here, none of those people exist, and no example on this site is a prediction about you.

If we change this page

We date it, and we say what moved rather than quietly replacing the wording. A change applies from the day it appears, never backward over something that has already happened.

Questions about any of this, or something on this page that does not match what we actually do, go to hello@creamconnects.ca. A fault here is worth telling us about, and we would rather hear it than not.
